Inez Fong. 6 years old

I ended another home student class few days ago. Inez is a talented art student. She can draw alot of animals before I started teaching her last year Dec. Her brush control is also very stable most of the time. My main focus for her was to introduce her basic colour theory and different kinds of art techniques.

Blending with oil pastel

oil pastel resist water-colour

Colour theory - warm colours

Draw and paint base on a fairytale.
She can copy from storybook illustrations very well.

She learned the concept of composing a picture in layers
by painting 3 different pictures and combine them together.
Sh named this "Hide and Seek"

Still Life (toys) painting on canvas board with acrylic paint.
She loves writing text on her paintings.

So cute!

Elisha and her family are very warm and nice folks. Below are some of the artworks I did with her.

Elisha loves going to the beach. She did a number of
drawings/paintings about the ocean and beach like the above.

She tried blending with oil pastel

And drawing out the clayworks she had made. Very good observation.

The subject is to draw horses.
Elisha decided to draw cowboys and horses
performing on the stage.

Sunflowers (also wet-on-wet) - Elisha's mummy favourite flowers

It's been quite some time since I last post anything here. For the past few months, other than teaching, I am preparing the arrival of my first baby, she's expecting to due in mid-Sept. Now I am beginning to end all my classes one-by-one, so that I can go for maternity break by mid-Aug.

Today's my last lesson with Lisa She is one of my private home class student. Lisa is presently 5 years old and I have taught her since January this year. I find it very encouraging to observe her progress from beginning till now.

Her first 2 lessons drawings were like these:

Eventually we try to draw bigger and add more details

Then we try to fill up the whole background

I tried to challenge her creativity with cut-out shapes, see what she can produce:

Girl with big circle hat, rocks and 2 sun

Random fold-and-cut shapes: Mother's Day Drawing.
She did the arrangement and everything all by herself.
Lisa really put her whole heart in this for her mummy. So sweet!

We also had fun experimenting with handprints, wet-on-wet and splattering paints
